Rev. Michael Clayton Harris

Pastor



Rev. Michael Clayton Harris is the son of the late Rev. Dr. Michael Neely Harris and Mrs. Sylvia Jones Harris. He was born on September 6, 1977 in West Chester, Pennsylvania.


Rev. Harris followed in his grandfathers’ and father’s footsteps, becoming a third generation “Morehouse Man.” Rev. Harris lettered in basketball for four consecutive years and held the distinction after his graduation of being the fourth All-Time Leading Scorer in Morehouse Basketball History. Rev. Harris is a, 2006 honors graduate of the Candler School of Theology of Emory University in Atlanta, GA where he earned a Master’s of Divinity degree. Currently, he is a first-year student at Payne Theological Seminary in Wilberforce, OH where he is pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree.


On January 20, 2002, Rev. Harris having accepted the call of God on his life, was licensed to the gospel ministry and in May of 2003, was ordained by the Wheat Street Baptist Church, under the pastorate of his father, Dr. Harris, thus becoming a fourth-generation proclaimer of the word. On May 4, 2003, Rev. Harris was called to be the pastor of the Higher Piney Grove Baptist Church in Decatur, GA and served there until May of 2007. On May 10, 2007, Rev. Harris accepted the call to organize and pastor the Acts of Faith Baptist Church currently located metropolitan Atlanta, GA. On November 6, 2021, he accepted the call to pastor the First Baptist Church of Passtown located in Coatesville, PA, which is also the church that his late father pastored fifty plus years ago.


Rev. Harris has been blessed to have one of his sermons entitled, “The PHD (The Power to Handle the Devil),” published in the late Dr. Fred C. Lofton’s book entitled, The Trash Man.  In October of 2007, Rev. Harris completed his first book entitled, The Devil Ain’t All That. Rev. Harris has been privileged to preach the Gospel in states across America and internationally in Nassau, Bahamas.


Rev. Harris is the originator and co-host of the, The Red and Rev Sports Show which comes on Saturdays on the Facebook page: The Red & Rev Sports Show as well as is the originator and prayer leader for, M&M Prayer (Midday & Midnight Prayer), on the Facebook page: Pastor Michael Clayton Harris. Rev. Harris is the proud father of one daughter, Ms. Michelle Angelique Harris who works for Ford Motor Company as an Informational Technology Strategic Specialist and lives in Detroit, Michigan
